WHAT IS A FACE LIFT?
A facelift is a comprehensive cosmetic surgical procedure performed to visibly counteract the signs of aging in the face and neck, resulting in a smoother, firmer, and more rejuvenated appearance.
Types of Facelift Procedures:
There are several facelift options depending on your needs. A full facelift targets deep wrinkles and sagging across the entire face and neck. A mini facelift focuses on lifting the lower face and jawline with less downtime. A mid-facelift rejuvenates the cheeks and under-eye area. For a refreshed look around the eyes and brows, a temporal or brow lift can be done.
Each technique is tailored to enhance natural contours and create a more youthful, lifted appearance.
HOW DOES THE PROCEDURE WORK?
A facelift is performed by first making discreet incisions, typically beginning in the hairline at the temples and continuing down around the ear. Through these incisions, the surgeon lifts a flap of skin from the face and neck, and then repositions and tightens the underlying muscle and connective tissue, known as the Superficial Musculoaponeurotic System (SMAS). The surgeon will often sculpt or redistribute excess fat to restore a youthful facial contour. Finally, the remaining skin is carefully redraped over the newly elevated structures, with any excess skin meticulously trimmed away before the incisions are closed with sutures or skin adhesives, resulting in a smoother, firmer, and more rejuvenated appearance.

WHO IS SUITABLE FOR A
FACE LIFT?
An ideal candidate for a facelift is an individual who is bothered by visible signs of advanced aging in the mid to lower face and neck. These signs include a loss of definition along the jawline forming jowls, noticeable sagging skin on the cheeks, and deep folds or bands in the neck area. Crucially, suitable candidates must be in good overall physical and psychological health, be non-smokers (as smoking severely impedes healing), and possess skin that retains a degree of elasticity. Furthermore, it is essential that the individual has a positive outlook and realistic expectations about the surgical outcomes, understanding that the procedure will rejuvenate their appearance—like turning back the clock several years—but will not completely stop the aging process or address surface skin issues like fine lines or sun damage.
